Biography

Alfred was a local junior for St. Thomas and incredibly made his debut against Dundee Wanderers after William Fairweather failed to appear, with Alfred being plucked off the common opposite Gayfield, making his debut around 5 minutes after the game had started. He impressed so much he was given two further trial games before being signed up in late November 1906.

He was given a run in the team for several months in the spring 1907, playing in several different roles within the forward line. He signed up for the 1907-08 season but only managed two competitive appearances before leaving the club at the end of that campaign.

In May 1914, the Arbroath Herald reported that Alfred was in Alaska, on his way to the gold fields, having previously lived in Seattle for several years.
