Less than two weeks after his debut, he signed his first professional deal with the club.
Over the next two and a half years he made fleeting appearances for the first team before breaking into the starting 11 during the second half of the 1990-91 season. For the next four years Craig was a regular in the side, never making less than 35 appearances in a campaign. In June 1995 he decided to leave the club and move on to Brechin City before spells with Montrose and Forfar Athletic followed, making Craig one of the only players to play for all four Angus senior clubs.
