John Ward

John was part of our youth team and signed his first professional deal in June 1994, going on make appearances during the 1994-95 season before establishing himself as a regular in the team from January 1996. He captained the team aged just 18 and was given trials by both Celtic and Hibs during 1996 but after a falling out with manager Tommy Campbell in January 1997 he dropped out of the team. He featured in the following pre-season as a trialist under new manager Dave Baikie before going on to spend time playing in Denmark prior to returning to his native Dundee and giving up the game for a period of time. He returned to play with Lochee Utd and then Tayport, where he won nearly every honour possible at junior level. In 2005 Cowdenbeath signed him, and he spent a year at Central Park before three years with Brechin City was followed by a final spell with Linlithgow Rose.
