Harry, brother of James who also played for us, played for local junior side Dauntless and featured in several trial games towards the end of the 1897-98 season. His impressive performances saw him signed up for the following season, and he was immediately an important and regular part of the side during the 1898-99 campaign, winning his first Forfarshire County cap in February 1899. After two successful years at the club, Harry moved to Kirkcaldy in mid-March 1900 (although he returned to play the Dundee Charity Cup final for the club in May) due to work and at this point turned down an offer to join Aston Villa, before deciding to move north and join Aberdeen that summer.
He returned to the club permanently in mid-March 1904 from Aberdeen, but he left Scotland on 20th November 1905 to move to America where he played for Lynn and Havard & Bullough.
