Biography

James played locally at a junior level and after impressing on trial in pre-season 1897 he was given a run in the team and was a regular for the first few months of the season before dropping out the team after a poor run of form. He was reported to sign for Partick Thistle in September 1898, however with no record of him ever playing for Thistle's reserve or first teams, it is thought the move fell through.
