The tough tackling central defender/ midfielder spent a further three seasons at Gayfield before losing his place in the first team squad and having a brief loan spell with Elgin City early in the 2000-01 campaign. A change of manager saw John Brownlie give Scott a run of games in October, but he dropped out again and was allowed to leave the club towards the end of the year. He went on to play for Tayport, where he was also selected to play for the junior Scotland side.
