Andy Webster

Biography

Andy came through our youth team and initially made two appearances for the first team in August 1999, after which he signed his first professional deal with the club. He ended the 1999-00 campaign with six appearances, and it was the following season the youngster established himself as a regular in central defence, and the 18-year-old quickly started getting interest from other clubs in Scottish football. After rejecting a move to Dundee Utd, ‘Webby’ would go on to sign for Hearts in late March 2001 for a fee of around £80,000.
