Andy Cargill

Biography

Andy spent time with Dundee Utd as a youth player before moving to Dundee where he broke into their team during the 1994-95 season. After struggling for game time during the 1996-97 campaign, he was signed by Ian McPhee at Forfar Athletic for a nominal fee. He spent four years at Station Park, turning down a move to Gayfield in January 2001 after a bid was accepted, before being convinced to sign up on a free transfer at the end of the season. During his first season, he helped the club avoid relegation from the First Division before a disappointing second campaign in which we finished rock bottom. After avoiding double relegation on the last day of the 2003-04, Andy left the club that summer, going on to sign for Ayr United. After a year with the Somerset Park side, he spent time with Montrose and Cowdenbeath before retiring from football.
