Biography

George previously played for local team Pilgrims and stepped up as first choice ‘keeper at Gayfield when Ned Doig moved down south, George having made some appearances when Doig was unavailable previously. He went on to secure himself as our regular goalkeeper for several seasons, however after playing the first half of the 1892-93 season, a nasty hand injury resulted in him dropping out and replacement Allan Mann kept the place upon Murray's return.

After leaving Gayfield, he played for both Dundonians and Lochee United during the 1893-94 season, as well as being recorded as playing for Dundee Wanderers in September 1895. He also spent two seasons with Arbroath Wanderers.
