Peter was signed on a short-term deal in late July 2005, the central defender having impressed manager Harry Cairney enough as a trialist in pre-season. He made five appearances early in the season before his short-term deal came to an end and he left the club on a free.

Stranraer 3 - 1 Arbroath
Scottish Challenge Cup (First Round)
A double from new signing David Hamilton propelled Stranraer into the second round of the Bell's Cup after a bruising encounter at Gayfield Park. Hamilton raced on to Paul Walker's through ball to chip the Arbroath goalkeeper to give Stranraer the lead. It was two when an Ian Ross corner deflected into the net off new Arbroath signing Hugh Davidson. Hamilton put the game beyond Arbroath with a wonderful long-range drive before Alan Brazil pulled one back.
Iain Diack, who Arbroath released in the summer, came back to haunt the Lichties with two second half goals which went a long way towards giving Shire their first home victory since March. A late Roddy Black strike brought Arbroath back into contention but Ally Graham’s last minute goal made sure of the points for the home side.
