After Cairney’s departure just over a year after his appointment, new man John McGlashan continued to select Alan regularly as he hit excellent form during the 2005-06 season before breaking his leg in a game away to Queen’s Park in early February 2006. He returned to fitness ahead of the following campaign and had another two seasons as a regular forward in the team before leaving the club in May 2008, going on to join Stenhousemuir that summer.
