Biography

Andy came through Arbroath Lads Club, and he signed for Carnoustie Panmure in August 1964, rejecting offers from us and Leicester City. Only a few days later, and an increased offer on the table, Andy changed his mind and decided to sign up at Gayfield. He made his debut less than two weeks after signing, playing in a League Cup game against Albion Rovers, and he also had a run of games in autumn before dropping down to the reserves for the rest of the campaign.

His next three seasons at Gayfield saw him act as backup right back to Walter Cameron, Andy coming into the side whenever Cameron was unavailable, and he also played regularly for the reserves. He was released at the end of the 1967-68 season and went on to join Montrose prior to the start of the following campaign.
