Biography

Dave was signed in early September 1961 after regular keeper Bobby Reid sustained a finger injury, the former Clyde keeper having been released by the Shawfield side several months earlier. He competed with Reid for the number one jersey throughout the 1961-62 season with both getting their chances. From the start of the 1962-63 campaign up until March 1965 he was our first choice in goal, missing just five competitive games during this period prior to dropping out of the team.

After missing a game against Hamilton Accies due to an ankle, Jimmy Milne stepped up in his place and impressed, resulting in manager Albert Henderson continuing with Milne for the rest of the campaign. Dave spent the last six weeks of the season playing for the reserves prior to his release on a free.
