Dave Souter

Dave was signed from Carnoustie Panmure in late-January 1959, making his debut the following month in a Division Two game against Brechin City. He made one further appearance before the end of the season, as well as making three further competitive appearances during the 1959-60 campaign while regularly featuring for the reserves. It was during the 1960-61 season that Dave made his breakthrough into the first team, making 38 appearances and mainly playing on the left-hand side of our front line, however at the end of the campaign he was surprisingly given a free transfer and went on to join Berwick Rangers that summer.

After spending half a season with the Shielfield Park side he moved to East Fife for the second half of the 1961-62 season before leaving at the end of the campaign and re-joining his old junior side Carnoustie Panmure. After just a couple of months back with Carnoustie, he was re-signed in mid-September 1962. He featured regularly in the front line for the rest of that season, before becoming our first choice right half for the 1963-64 campaign, where he continued up until November 1964 when he was sold to Clyde after making a transfer request.
