Biography

Bill initially featured as a trialist in a Division Two game against Greenock Morton in mid-September 1956 and after impressing he was signed up after the game from Newburgh. He was a regular at centre half in the team up until mid-March when due to injury he dropped out the team and missed the final stages of the 1956-57 season. The following campaign he was again a regular feature in the team up until December when the same back injury caused him problems and he was unable to feature at all for the rest of the season.

After returning to fitness, Bill came back into the team for the opening few months of the season, but he dropped out of the team in late September with Jim Fraser being the preferred centre-half. After dropping out, he made a transfer request which was agreed to in mid-November and towards the end of the month he was transferred to East Fife.
