Chris Anderson (1925)

Chris was signed in July 1953 by Alec Cheyne following his release from Aberdeen. During his first season at Gayfield he was used as our regular left half, making 28 appearances in that position before being used more as a centre half or right half in his second campaign. He spent a further two seasons at Gayfield as a registered player but featured less and during the 1956-57 campaign he also helped manager Tommy Gray in a scouting role. Following Gray’s departure to Dundee Utd in March 1957, Chris was kept on in his scouting role and given further duties relating to team selection alongside the board, a role in which he had a lot of success prior to leaving the club at the end of the 1959-60 season.
