Biography

Dave was signed from local juniors Westburn in June 1949 having impressed locally with Arbroath Youth Club and Arbroath Vics also in previous seasons. In his first season at Gayfield, he was used in five different positions within the half back and front lines in the 14 games he played, and in his second campaign he was used in six positions, this time also making an appearance in the back line. During that second season he was our regular left half from mid-December onwards, but at the end of the campaign he was released on a free.
