Sam English
Biography
Sam was signed in early August 1946 prior to the start of the 1946-47 campaign, and in his first season at Gayfield he never missed a competitive game, being our regular right back and filling in at left back and centre half when needed. The following season he lost the right back position, with Willie Fraser preferred, and he featured in several positions within the back and half back lines without ever having a regular position and at the end of the 1947-48 season he was given a free transfer, going on to join Albion Rovers.
