Biography

Jon was signed from Bank’s O Dee in summer 1971 and he was a regular in our front line in the first three months of the season before dropping out of the team in early November, however he did make a further seven appearances before the end of the campaign. After promotion to the top division, Jon struggled to break into the first team during the 1972-73 season and he also missed several months due to work exams between November and February, when he was signed by Buckie Thistle. His new manager at Buckie, appointed just days prior to signing Jon, was his former manager at Bank’s O Dee, Ken Malcolm, who also played for us between 1949 and 1954 prior to signing for Ipswich Town.
