Biography

Jim was signed from Yoker Athletic in late October 1969 and featured regularly for the reserve team up until his debut against Dumbarton in March 1970, after which he continued as number one for the rest of the 1969-70 season. He started the first two games of the following season before dropping out of the team in favour of Dave Phillips, and then Brian Wilson, spending most of the season as backup. The following campaign he started as our first-choice keeper, and he kept his place until mid-February when he dropped out of the team and at the end of the season, he was given a free transfer following the club’s promotion to the top division.

Following several months spent with Clydebank amateur club Municipal, he joined the local senior side in November 1972 and would go on to spend over two decades at the Bankies, making an incredible 742 appearances.
