Jimmy Milne (1950)

Jimmy was part of the Arbroath Lads Club under 18 team which won the Scottish Amateur Cup, and he was signed from them in June 1969. He made his debut early in the 1969-70 campaign, playing against Falkirk in a League Cup group stage game in August before making two further appearances in league games near the end of the campaign. The following season he came into the team early on, initially at left back, before moving over to his preferred right back position where he featured in every game from mid-September onwards.

He continued as our regular right back throughout the early/ mid 1970s, rarely missing a game up until early January 1977 when he emigrated to Australia. He did return to Arbroath a couple of years later, when he spent a year playing with Arbroath Vics prior to returning ‘Down Under’.
