Billy Pirie
Biography
Billy was signed from Huntly by Albert Henderson in February 1972 and his goals helped the club win promotion back to the top division at the end of the 1971-72 campaign. He continued to score regularly in the top division and in March 1974 his hometown team Aberdeen purchased him for £40,000, a club record fee received at the time.
In March 1980, while a Dundee player, Billy returned to wear maroon for a final time, featuring in Tam Cargill’s testimonial against Aberdeen.
