George Mackie

Biography

George was signed by Jimmy Bone in March 1985 from Brechin City, Graeme Payne moving to the Glebe Park side in an exchange deal. He featured regularly in the team during the mid-80s, initially featuring mainly in midfield before dropping back to play at centre back for a spell in his last season. At the end of the 1987-88 season George retired from playing professional football, and he would return to Gayfield in the 1990s as manager.
