Biography

Tony was initially signed in February 1981 from Tullibody Hearts, and he initially played with our youth team prior to breaking though to the first team during the 1982-93 campaign, making his debut as a substitute against Celtic in a League Cup game in September 1982 just a few days after his 17th birthday. He was given his first start the following February, after which he played every game up until the end of the season, establishing himself as our regular left back.

Tony continued as a regular in our back line, both at left back and sometimes centre back, up until January 1988 when he made a transfer request due to issues with travelling, and despite making two appearances towards the end of the campaign he spent the first half of the following season on the transfer list and not playing prior to leaving the club midway through the campaign.
