Biography

Colin spent just under a decade with Dundee, making nearly 300 competitive appearances for the Dens Park side after being signed from Musselburgh Bruntonians in October 1924. While at Dundee he was also capped six times for Scotland between 1930 and 1932.

Having been signed in mid-September 1932 for £125, he became our regular right half for the rest of the 1932-33 campaign and his superb performances and captaincy culminated in the club winning promotion away to Alloa on the 6th of April 1933, his 32nd birthday. He continued as our captain and regular right half during the following season and only missed half a dozen games during winter due to being unwell. At the end of the campaign, he decided to retire from football after two seasons as a real fans favourite at the club. He had a brief return to playing in the autumn of 1937, making an appearance for Forres Mechanics.

Colin returned to Gayfield in spring 1948 as a newly elected member of the committee.
