Biography

Joe played for Arbroath Violet and when we started playing again in spring 1919, he played trial games at Gayfield and was officially signed that summer ahead of the 1919-20 season. After playing as our regular centre half throughout the first half of the campaign, he didn't play any further games for the club past mid-February 1920. He moved to St. Andrews during the 1920s and would play locally with St. Andrews Utd, with Joe continuing to live in the town up until his death in May 1961.
