George was signed in late September 1910 from Forthill Athletic, and he became our first-choice keeper ahead of William Clark up until mid-February 1911 when George Scott was signed from Forfar East End. He left the club at the end of the 1910-11 season, making no further competitive appearances after Scott's arrival, and he was reinstated as an amateur in January 1912.
In November 1913 Dundee Hibs signed George as a backup keeper, and he made 9 competitive appearances for them in early 1914. When the war broke out in July 1914, he volunteered for military service, and he became a lieutenant.
