Match report

Arbroath's title bid now hangs by the thinnest of threads as Albion Rovers leave Gayfield tonight with all three points opening up a 8 point lead over Arbroath and a 4 point gap over second placed Queen's Park with each team only having 7 games left to play. Arbroath's title bid now hangs by the thinnest of threads as Albion Rovers leave Gayfield tonight with all three points opening up a 8 point lead over Arbroath and a 4 point gap over second placed Queen's Park with each team only having 7 games left to play.

The Lichties fell behind to an Ally Love lob which seemed to fool everyone as it looked like it was going over the bar but it fell right under the crossbar and in to give them a 3 minute lead. This prompted a response from the Lichties and for the next 42 minutes they kept Albion Rovers in their own half for vast periods but with the Albion back 4 taking a no nonsense style approach to clearing the ball Arbroath didn't have much chances with two goal mouth scrambles the best of the offerings.

The second half was a slightly different affair with both Arbroath and Albion having equal possession but as much as Albion stuck to their thumping clearances they did create chances and Gary Fisher doubled the wee Rovers lead as he cut across and finished from the left hand side in the 65th minute.

Arbroath struggled to get the ball to Linn and Murray and then McManus when he came on for Rowan and failed to test Parry with one shot all evening.
