Match Report
Arbroath hung on for victory after first half goals from Bryan Scott and Scott McBride put them in control.
The home side took the lead after 11 minutes when Scott smashed home a long kick out from his goalkeeper.
The second goal arrived after Jamie Bishop was fouled 10 yards outside the box and McBride stepped up to hit home a superb free-kick.
Montrose ramped up the pressure in the second period and pulled one back in the when Roddy Hunter headed home.
